19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his first championship for 882 days with success over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, managing just one match at the big events and suffering a setback at the US Open.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - resulted in him exiting of the top ten and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a championship is particularly special," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's defensive approach and frequent outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his ability to play at the elite level was finished.

Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the final five exchanges to take the lead.

Both players swapped service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his initial ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a decider.

He defended four early chances in a tight final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched victory with a point at the net, with Moutet unable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
